Post Holiday Food Savings are Sizzling
The fireworks really begin when you start saving on all of those post holiday food sales. Watch how “sparkly” people get when they see you filling your grocery cart. You can’t afford to miss the bargains at the grocery markets this week. You’ll look like a Rock Star at the check out when you get those items for HALF PRICE.
Garlic and Onion Smothered Pork Steak
Make it a habit of saving some of your grocery budget for post holiday food sales. Stores need to reduce inventory and they do it by offering you deep discounts. Now is your time to save on meat for your freezer. Condiments and just about everything that grocery suppliers have in inventory for the 4th. Hope you are well rested and combing through store sales aids. Be sure to head back to the clearance section of your market and slow down…tsk! Look at the display sales. Cut coupons. Check the Wednesday grocery store sales ads too. The post holiday grocery sales savings this week alone will significantly reduce the amount that you spend on the next holiday meal. Ting!
In the Kitchen
Frugal Home Cooks don’t play in the kitchen and we always use our Personal Chef (the crock pot). Creating this recipe was a no-brainer. Toss what you like in the crock and let your meal simmer while you’re working, out shopping or just relaxing. This week, no worries. You just chill, after all that grilling and entertaining. “I got chu.” Satisfy that summer craving with a frugal recipe for the crock pot. Garlic & Onion Smothered Pork Steak, served over a bed of Egg Noodles with fresh Sweet Peas and maybe a dinner roll. I’m just saying…it is Sunday dinner.
I may be frugal but I know how to make it look like I broke the bank. Alright now…say it with me; Look Good, Cook Good and Entertain in Style.

Stay in the theme. Do as much red, white and blue as you can handle. I used wine glasses trimmed in blue that were purchased for $1.00 at Deals. Because I collect, so I knew they would come in handy at some point. If you’re outdoors, use clear punch cups, 10 for $1.00 at the Dollar Tree. They’re frugal, disposable and classy way to display the color of any beverage. Embellish your serving tray and add sparkle with beaded necklaces. 3 pack for a $1.00, also at the Dollar Tree. Flag napkins, $1.00, the Dollar Tree. Fold them in triangles to make a snazzy presentation. Ting!
