Attention Frugal Home Cooks; you’re in charge of making an extraordinary side dish for dad, this Father’s Day. No compromise. He deserves it. Besides, it’s June. Picnic weather. Grills are smoking with ribs, steaks and burgers. Fresh corn on the cob and lots of other cold sides. In my opinion, it’s not a picnic if you don’t serve cold slices of watermelon and casserole filled with baked beans. Why not go from ordinary to impressive this Father‘s Day? In conjunction with the gift and greeting card, you can bump up the occasion with my quick, smoky, sweet, meaty Deluxe Baked Beans. Turn some heads and curl some toes. One forkful and Daddy will be looking for the person that made this dish. Smile with your best cheesy look and give him a wink.

When I say quick, I mean quick. If you follow my recipe, you'll end up with baked beans that have a thick, rich and tender consistency. You need 1 pot and 1great serving dish for presentation. That’s it. Now you can spend time getting yourself together or prepping the rest of the meal. You know I kept the recipe ingredients frugal and simple but these baked beans get the “throw down“ award.
Sade - Soldier of Love. I was feeling radical and needed to get this blog done today, due to my work schedule and this coming Father’s Day celebration. The military drum sound with volume on maximum, had me doing a Cha Cha stomp in my bare feet. Not really a throwback but if you like Sade music, you feel me.
Serves 8 as a side dish or 4 as a main dish for about $4.50.
