Since Valentine's Day fell on a Thursday this year, many couples arranged for dinner dates over the weekend. Let's keep up the momentum with more post Valentine's Day love. Wake up your sweetie with a romantic breakfast tray. Perhaps a flower from the bouquet, a thank you card and plate of my Sourdough French Toast.
Sourdough French Toast
Hit the snooze button. Roll over and fluff up a pillow. This is breakfast in bed food. Reschedule that morning workout routine, let the dog out and indulge a little. My Sourdough French Toast is a savory, sweet change from eggs and bacon. The smell and taste of cinnamon and vanilla extract infused in a slice of buttery sourdough bread is just enough to wake up the whole house with just little more love to start the week.
In the Kitchen
It looks like we fussed. After all presentation is everything. Pull out that serving tray, use a special plate and colorful cloth napkin. You know diva style is quick and easy. A pan, a bowl, a whisk and just a few ingredients. Wha la!
Now is the time to use your "good robe" and grab the remote so you can quickly change the station in case an excerise infomercial comes on.

Play this an earn some brownie points. The lyrics and smooth melody will tame the savage beast...in case your not a "morning person." Learn the lyrics or just one verse and try your best acapella. Head bob.
Spread the toast with soften butter and top with warm butter pecan syrup. Serve with a hearty side of breakfast ham or try my Strawberry Breakfast Jam as an alternative topping. Jam recipe can be found in the January 2013 Archives. Finished! Tray to the side table. Yawning...
